An emergency light is a lighting device with a battery backup that switches on automatically when a building experiences a power outage. The abbreviation NiCd is derived from the chemical symbols of nickel and cadmium. NiCd batteries have a longer shelf life of around 10 years. The NiCd batteries sold on this site are High Temperature NiCds batteries with outstanding charge/discharge characteristics at both room temperature and high temperature up to 70°C (158°F).
