An emergency light is a lighting device with a battery backup that switches on automatically when a building experiences a power outage. A lumen is a measure of the amount of brightness of a lightbulb - the higher the number of lumens, the brighter the light bulb. High lumen emergency lights are much brighter than the standard emergency light.
