New York City has very specific codes regarding emergency lighting and signage. In short New York City approved exit signs must be Red 8 inch tall letters with a 1 inch stroke (line thickness) as opposed to 6 inch tall with a 3/4 inch stroke in typical exit signs.

The main housing of these exit signs and emergency lights is painted black or made from a black thermoplastic.

Red letters are required for New York City and Chicago approved exit signs.

With the SDT feature automatically simulates a full discharge and full recharge to keep the batteries in peak performance. If any problems arise during this testing process it will report them through the user interface. This benefit drastically reduces man hours required by OSHA to manually perform the tests.
