INTENDED USE

Ideal for wet location areas requiring exit signs for AC only or battery back-up power that are subject to saturation with non-mechanically delivered water.

CONSTRUCTION

White, compact, contemporary design. Engineering-grade thermoplastic housing is impact-resistant, scratch-resistant and corrosion-proof. Universal directional Chevron inserts are easily removed and reinserted. UL94V-0 flame rating. UV-stable resin resists discoloration from natural and man-made light sources. Rugged, heavy-duty, polycarbonate clear housing lens. Housing also available in black or gray. Letters 6” high with 3/4” stroke, with 100 ft. viewing distance rating, based upon UL924 standards.

OPTICS

Low energy consumption — fewer than 5 watts. The typical life of the exit LED lamp is 10 years, based on continuous operation.

ELECTRICAL

Dual voltage input capacity (120/277V). Battery: (EL Option) – Sealed, maintenance free nickel-cadmium battery delivers 90 minutes rated capacity.
Test switch provides manual activation of 30-second diagnostic testing for on-demand visual inspection.
Self-diagnostic testing (SD Option Only) for 30 seconds every 30 days, 30 minutes every 180 days and a 90-minute annual test.
Diagnostic evaluation of LED light source, charging and battery condition.

INSTALLATION

Universal (top, end or back mount), canopy included.
Junction box hole pattern for 4” octagon mounting. Flexible conduit entry.

Nickel-Cadmium (NiCd)

The nickel–cadmium battery is a type of rechargeable battery using nickel oxide hydroxide and metallic cadmium as electrodes. The abbreviation NiCd is derived from the chemical symbols of nickel and cadmium. NiCd batteries have a longer shelf life of around 10 years. The NiCd batteries sold on this site are High Temperature NiCds batteries with outstanding charge/discharge characteristics at both room temperature and high temperature up to 70°C (158°F).

Red

Red letters are required for New York City and Chicago approved exit signs.

Green

Green letters are typically used in theater exit signs.

Damp Location

A damp location is an interior location normally subject to dampness or condensation, or an exterior location protected from weather and not subject to saturation with water. Damp locations include over bathtubs, indoor pools, covered porches, and like locations.

Gray

Wet Location

Wet Location emergency lights and exit signs are weatherproof and designed to be used in outdoor environments, as well as indoor locations that are exposed to water and moisture. Wet location emergency lights and exit signs are extremely durable and long-lasting.

Cold Weather

Batteries placed in cold environments can eventually fail or rupture. If your emergency lights or exit signs will be installed in temperatures below 20° F (-6° C), you may want to consider a cold weather option. Cold weather lights include a thermostatic battery heater which maintains the battery strength and lifespan in temperatures between -4° F (-20° C) and -40° F (-40° C) depending on the model you choose.

LED Lighting

Light emitting diode or LED exit signs & emergency lights have proven to be successful in the reducing electricity consumption by up to 85%. LED exit signs can save money and power while still emitting considerable amounts of light.

Battery Backup

An emergency light with battery backup capability switches to emergency operation in the event of a power loss to illuminate escape routes and safety equipment.

Ceiling Mount

These products can be hung from the ceiling. Many exit signs come with the ceiling mounting canopy included.

Surface/Wall Mount

Exit signs & emergency lights that are surface mountable are typically one sided and have a back plate that can be connected directly to a wall or flat surface.

AC Only

AC only exit signs do not include a battery backup or charging circuitry and are for installation and use only where emergency power is supplied from a remote or secondary AC power supply.

Dual Circuit

Dual circuit exit signs. These unit allows the fixture to have dual power feeds. The idea behind this is so that when on normal power, the fixture is fed from a switch leg and can be turned off by the occupant. The PTS relay coil is fed by unswitched normal power. The normal power from the switch leg is connected to the normally open contacts on the PTS relay.
