4.8 Volt
Federally approved high temperature 4.8 Volt exit sign and emergency lighting NiCd batteries. A 4.8 Volt NiCd has four AA, AAA, C, Sub-C, D or F cells in a battery pack that can come in a variety of configurations. Most common are cube, row and stick configurations.
Nickel-Cadmium (NiCd)
The nickel–cadmium battery is a type of rechargeable battery using nickel oxide hydroxide and metallic cadmium as electrodes. The abbreviation NiCd is derived from the chemical symbols of nickel and cadmium. NiCd batteries have a longer shelf life of around 10 years. Self testing diagnostic automatically executes a 15 minute test every 30 days and runs a 90 minutes test once per year. With the SDT feature automatically simulates a full discharge and full recharge to keep the batteries in peak performance. If any problems arise during this testing process it will report them through the user interface. This benefit drastically reduces man hours required by OSHA to manually perform the tests.
